The Thankful List

I am thankful for my parents wandering feet – They taught me traveling is the only way to really experience the World.
I am thankful for my mother’s accent – It connects me to a part of my family culture that I can sometimes feel removed from.
I am thankful for being dyslexic – It has shown me that I can overcome so much, if I just try.
I am thankful for my father’s commitment – Without it I might not have learned long division.
I am thankful for my childhood books – they taught me to look past the jumbled words and opened up whole new worlds for me.
I am thankful for my friends – They show me that there is joy to be found in our human connections.
I am thankful for my mentors – For they have tried to impart their own wisdom on to me.
I am thankful for my camera – It is my creative outlet in what can sometimes be a dull day.
I am thankful for my trainer – He is teaching me healthy lifestyle skills that I never knew before.
I am thankful for my job – Even when it is difficult, it pays for everything I do.
I am thankful for my mistakes – They can teach you a lot about yourself and remind you to be accepting of others.
I am thankful for every opportunity – Though they seem scary and uncomfortable that is how I know I am challenging myself.
